Atonement: A Novel

Atonement - Ian McEwan I would like to call this the "Titanic" of books. Everyone read it and loved it, but I didn't really. I mean, I understand why because the writing does a great job of creating this world and describing it down to the very last detail and there are even some really interesting parts. But I felt like NOTHING HAPPENED for about 80% of the book. I mean, the entire second part was absolutely useless to me except to tell us that someone went to jail and was now fighting in the war. Except they said it in about 100 pages.
